Taylor Swift is Taylor Alison Swift. She was born the 13th of December, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. Swift has been a singer/songwriter from the pop/country genre for over 20 years. The stories she tells of her romance and love at first sight have gained her widespread popularity during the 21st Century. Swift discovered a love for music at an early age and she progressed quickly from roles in children's theatre and her first public appearance in front of the crowd of a thousand. Swift was eleven years old when she first performed The Star-Spangled Banner at a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match. Following that Swift began to write songs, and also picked up the guitar. Swift got inspiration from musicians in country music such as Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks and now the Chicks to come up with original songs that reflected the loneliness she experienced at 13 years old. Swift's family moved to Tennessee from Pennsylvania when she was thirteen so she could be able to spend more time exploring country music labels in Nashville.
