Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an distinguished chair in psychology within the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. Her name is often credited for starting the modern research into the study of witness memory as well as child victimes as witness in lawful contexts. Professor Goodman's publications are extensive, she has received numerous grants and is the recipient of many honors the national level and international. She has offered consulting on research and policy to many agencies and departments from all over the world. She is currently a advisor to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and also the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. Professor Goodman was the president of American Psychological Association Divisions for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
